Over the past week, I wrote a script for a film and filmed it. I got the idea for the film when I was walking around my backyard. I thought that it might be interesting to film someone trying to sneak into the house from the back door, while someone else was inside, completely ignorant of the interloper. I felt that the ending of the film, where the intruder has hot coffee spilled on them, was somewhat humorous. I filmed my parents, who had busy schedules, so I ran into problems regarding the filming. Because of the limited time frame I actually had to film, I wound up doing it in only half an hour or so.     Over the past few days, I worked on my first real short film. In this assignment, I played around with the lighting, and tried to film in the dark, with the only light being that of a candle and a lantern. It was difficult at first to actually show the darkness, but I learned to use the exposure to change the lighting. I also used sound effects in the film, which I feel added to some of the scenes.      The results went as I expected. I'm not 100% pleased with everything in the film, but I do think I managed to create what I wanted to create.      If I were to go back and do it again, I would probably have spent more time filming. I filmed with my father and my sister, who were only available for a short period of time, so I didn't have much time to film. I also would have filmed it in a larger area; I had to film all of it in a small room, and I had to film in the daytime for some of it.
